Ian Thurston is a native San Diegan, he has been computer software/hardware consulting in the Bay Area going back to 1999 and portrait photography since 2007.

Born and raised in a family with a history of musical and artistic background – Ian has been a musician since he was 6 years old, first starting out on the piano and began guitar at age 15. Ian’s father has been the drummer for several bands in the San Diego area, andhis mother is a muralist, graphic artist and at one time, photographer – now turned to teaching.

Focusing on portraits and a photo-journalistic approach to photography, Ian also photographs events, architecture, landscapes, sports competitions (see RCP Tiburon Mile and RCP Tiburon Sprint Classic) and is occasionally known to participate in studio-recordings on piano or 12 string guitar.

Also a Graphic Artist,  Ian uses Adobe and other software suites combined with photography to create music CD jackets and website artwork.

Ian currently resides in the San Francisco Bay Area with his wife of 13 years, three daughters, one son, several pets, all of whom are photographed and appear on occasion.  :)
