Nikon 10.5mm f/2.8

A sample shot of the sky from my backyard – I don’t have a good view for such a wide angle but I like the effect.  Couldn’t wait for this weekend to try it out somewhere in the open so this will have to do for now.  :)

It’s the first fisheye lens designed for DX format.  It covers an entire 180 degrees and makes a great lens for landscape, wedding and architecture shots (at least that’s what I’m going to use it for).

I got mine here.

30 Car Pileup on Hwy 37

Heading to work this morning in heavy fog and wound up in some pretty gnarly traffic, turns out eleven wrecks in a row had just occured, and I counted over 25 vehicles with damage.  Including two vehicles in the creek beside the highway, and one motorcyclist had been injured.  Crazyness.

Photos below – one was even published in the local paper.

Five Alarm Fire @ Mare Island

The old [abandoned] storage warehouse on Mare Island caught fire this morning which quickly escalated to a five alarm blaze within an hour.

These images were taken about three hours after the initial report, shortly after fire crews reported that the fire was under control.

“I Haz a Comfy Spot”

Every spot, is a cats spot… Normally she likes to go for my daughters room who has a very mild allergy to cats, and crawl up under her sheets or sleep directly on her pillow.  She doesn’t do this with anybody else’s bedding.
